Katelyn Loring, OTD, OTR/L
Founder of The OT Companion Project
Katelyn Loring, OTD, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist who created The OT Companion Project, to bring occupational therapy values of dignity, access, and meaningful participation into the community.
Katelyn holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UMass Amherst and an Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) from Tufts University, along with specialized training in civic engagement, social work, and developmental disabilities.
Katelyn has clinical experience working with adults and older adults in acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing settings, where she repeatedly witnessed individuals missing meaningful family events, not because they didn’t want to attend, but because they lacked the support needed to attend safely. These experiences, combined with her own wedding and navigating care needs for loved ones, made the gap painfully clear.
In addition to her clinical background, Katelyn holds a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and has over nine years of experience providing accessible transportation, further strengthening her ability to support clients safely and confidently in the community.
Founded in 2025, The OT Companion Project was created to bridge this gap, offering compassionate, non‑medical companion support so aging adults and individuals with disabilities can continue participating in the moments that matter most.
